During my stay in Bangalore Hogenakkal was favorite picnic spot at the border of Tamilnadu/Karnataka state in India. Incidentally the locals call the Hogenakkal Falls as Niagara Falls of India and I agreed with them.
This basket is not only used as a boat but as an umbrella a chair or even as bed for a good sleep.
The other picture is in a Canberra Lake where this unique Go-Go boats is really popular which can accommodate 7 passengers @ top speed of 8km/hr. Even children are allowed to take the helm.
My question is if given a chance would you like to enjoy a basket bat or go for this battery operated boat?

No it was not but I could not say the baskets were safe as boats in this area.
why would you show us boats and then rapids?
Because the basket boats sail in the stream of the same river about 500 meters ahead. The name of the place and river is Holenakkal. If you Google it you will find many interesting activities.

I have been in boats, I would go in a boat, when I notice it is seaworthy regardless if it is battery powered or manual

Nothing to worry, the water is not much here but the flow is fast. It’s common and widely used.
I think basket boat will not be secure instead of electric boat.

Yes, when you are not paddling being in the basket boat would be very nice and relaxing indeed. And you can lay back. 🙂
A basket boat and a battery operated boat both look fun, but I think I’d prefer to travel in a battery operated one!
I agree, most people who are not used to see such boats would not want to try these boats.
