Autumn Joy Sedum

Sedums, like Hostas and have become staples in American perennial gardens in recent years. And this one, Autumn Joy, is the one responsible. This incredible plant is now at or near the top of everyone’s list of the best perennial flowers of them all. Nothing beats it for late color in the border.

Mine started out green, then pink, now a burgundy color. So cool to see the colors change.

This is the first year to plant it in the garden. I was very excited to see it grow so well this year. Soon I will cut it back completely. Then it will return in the spring. Love the perennials in the garden.

Sharing photos below of the process the sedum goes through over the seasons.

  1. We need a map of Dustin’s Garden. This one i remember you were worried about, but it has bloomed so wonderfully!

Where is it in relation to Dustin’s Bench?

    • Happy that you remember. It has been a very gradual process and I have enjoyed every day of watching it. Yes it is burgundy now. It may get a little darker.
