Love ItLove It

At the edge of blue

in the distance

below the horizon but above the edge

of water, it is waiting.

it

always waits.

we don’t consider it

there at the edge of the blue

the eyes

turning around on stalks

as if not of this world

not of this land

or water.

it sees all

and

slowly

turns all to dust

grinding bones

and ships

fiberglass and

algae

grinding all to dust

until only it remains.

do you see it

there at the edge of the blue?

  1. I have to confess – as somebody who reads and writes poetry and writes about poetry – that this is the sort of poem that simply does not appeal to me. I just do not see how breaking a sentence up into lots of very short lines creates a poem – Sorry, but that’s just my personal non-preference! Each to their own!

In other words – Yes, people are funny about things, and this is one thing that I’m funny about!

    • i grew up and learned poetry from the American Surrealists (Erza Pound) and later embraced the style of ee cummings.

i do at least on occasion use capital letters!

But poetry is an experience, fair that you don’t like this style. Thanks for stopping by anyway!
