  1. First time I heard about this. But I practice abdominal breathing… The process is almost the same… Breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. Plus, exhaling must be longer than inhaling.

    • I’m aware of your breathing technique and it’s fine of course, the 4-7-8 technique forces the mind and body to focus on regulating the breath, rather than replaying your worries when you lie down at night. It has the ability to soothe a racing heart and calm frazzled nerves. It is not new as it forms part of the Yoga startup exercise.
