Continuing with Kim’s challenge for June, write about Happiness. What makes you happy? If I had to choose few or many things that would make me happy, I would say many things. But if anyone asks, many things or all things, then I will definitely answer, all things!
Many people do not believe in my answer, many people who consider me a liar, hypocrite, and other terms. But that’s my choice, and that’s how I feel. All things; to loved or being hate, who has made me fall or raise me up, gain or loss, sick or healthy, abandoned or accompanied, berated or praised, whatever, everything, because I am happy to discover the essence of all of that for me.
As what happened yesterday, when in the middle of a short break that I could get last night over all the fatigue during the day, Susie who was having a cold continued to accompany me, even after she got angry because I had to force her to swallow a few drops of her medicine. Sometimes she wakes me for she goes up to my chest. I am grateful and happy with the pleasure of exhaustion, love, and a sense of need that is very valuable. As well as when exactly at twelve o’clock this night, my wife and daughters hugged and kissed me to say, “Happy birthday, beloved father.”
Ahhh… Thank you very much, Divine. I love you.

Happy Birthday Albert!!!!
Thank you so much, Branka.
Everyone is entitled to their own point of view. The most important factor in life is for the individual to know their own identity thereafter epiphanies pop up like mushrooms. Happiness is yours if you embrace it!
Thank you for your point of view, Bradley. Unique and different is our own genuine, our own color to create a wonderful world. Also, our right to be happy or suffer upon all events that come to us or we come over. So it is my right to embrace everything as happiness, right? …and to show or drawing of what I see to people whether they are willing to accept it or not, right?
Happy belated Birthday Albert. Susie seems very happy and comfortable now. Hope she is over her cold. Yes I strongly believe that pain can bring along happiness. As an ex-registered nurse, I have seem my share of pain in every form and fashion. When a patient gets better, his family rejoices and loves him or her even more than before. But personally for me, seeing that much pain has hardened me so much that even when I hurt and ache with my growing years, I developed a bad tendency of not complaining at all and keeping everything inside. But that is just little old me.
Thank you, my friend.
In general, people see and live life with total separation between black and white without realizing that both are part of the same coin, but not with you.
I know all too well about pain bringing happiness. It takes awhile but it can be done.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ALBERT,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
There, I sang you a birthday song. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Enjoy YOUR day.
Yipppieeee….
Thank you sooooo much, Carol.
Happy Birthday Albert!!!! I answered yes yes no. Poor little Susie she looks comfy though!
Thank you very much, Kim. For everything!
Takes too much wisdom to see the happiness in pain… or maybe there isn’t… it’s the learning process… although they always say to try find positive in everything … its never easy…
I have to admit that it is hard to do because we try to understand it with the mind, with all the knowledge and general paradigm that has been ingrained so far. Maybe it should be another way…
I guess sometimes flight is the first reaction … and then we think… so maybe that’s why …
Oh yeah, I forget to say “Happy Belated B’day!” XD
Indeed, what you say is our tendency.
Thank you very much, my friend.
You’re welcome 🙂
Just enjoy your day…
like everyday is your b’day 🙂
That’s the great suggestion. Even if I did it every day after for so long, to celebrate every day as my b’day, my Christmas, my… and that advice is your great wise side anyway.
Haha… the main point is to ask for present everyday :p
hahahaha
You have understood the most hidden secrets of my mind!
Hahahahahahahaha…
Ah… like minds thinks alike!!
Your second question was interesting Albert, Pain can bring happiness in many forms, when it is gone, or if it helps us grow stronger. Interesting question!
Only open-minded people can understand it.
It is one of those, wander away and ponder questions. Thank you for opening a door yesterday!
Questioning everything makes it easy for us to step out of the comfort zone, right?
but btw, I do not understand enough with your statement “opening a door yesterday!”
It was referring to the day I read your piece. You opened a door for me to consider and think (and it had happened the day before my second post)!
Your second post? The second post in Virily about a year ago?
SOrry, I meant to say my second comment in this thread!
Hah. You make me feel amazed! lol
I hope that you enjoyed your birthday. Happiness is assisting others in their time of need.
Thank you so much, Dee. I enjoy this day as it is and be grateful to the fullest.
That is true since as we get older, we realize that Father Time is catching up with us.
Indeed we get older, but I am grateful that I don’t feel that Father Time is catching up on me… Hehe…
That is a good attitude to have.
It’s a life-sustaining formula that matters to me, Dee. Enjoy this moment by prioritizing the most important to no one to pursue, and no need to hurry though also not to be slow.
Thank you for sharing the advice.
Pleasure is mine, Dee.
A belated happy birthday Albert, hopefully filled with more joy than pain.
Thank you very much, Paul. Have a great weekend…
Hope you had a great birthday dear friend. God bless you for many more. The vote states that 1005 BELIEVE THAT PAIN IS NOT HAPPINESS. I AGREE!
Thank you for your attention, LaJenna.
Also to your firmness in stating that pain is not happiness.
I find it possible to be thankful IN all things, but not necessarily for them. There is a difference. I can be thankful for the sovereignty and justice of God when I read that a gang has raped and tortured a young woman, but I’m not thankful that it happened. I am thankful that God will see that justice is done in the end for both perpetrators and victim.
I don’t believe that pain is happiness, but I believe it often is good for our growth as human beings.
You explain well what you mean and I agree in the contexts you convey.
Indeed, pain is part of happiness if we learn and grow as human beings. I personally enjoy the learning process as the happiness because I believe that happiness is the path and not the goal.
