African Violets or Saintpaulia, are growing in my indoor garden. They are sensitive plants and must be kept at a steady temperature and lighting. Some people have a special room with fluorescent lighting just for their African Violets.
I enjoy the different colors but there is something special about the white ones. Mine have a little tinge of purple almost hidden in the tiny blooms.

Yes, I have grown these. You take a leaf and put it in a saucer. The water must never touch the leaves when you water it. They are indoor plants.
So beautiful, thanks for sharing such a beautiful photo.
Thank you very much for commenting!
So beautiful indeed dear friend.
Thank you very much for commenting!
When I saw the photo and the title I just knew that it had to be Carol. Nice to see some Africa in your garden. According to some studies from ancient Egypt, Africa comes from the root name Afru-ika which means mother land.
Yes indeed Bradley. These are growing indoors and I would like more of these delicate blooms. I never knew that before. Thanks!
They’re lovely!
I don’t thin I’ve them at home …
Thanks they are growing indoors.
I have had African violets in the home. They are beautiful.
Thanks I enjoy the blooms indoors.
i have heard these are very hard to grow – are they? I mean a special room with special lights is hard, but I heard there are soil issues etc….?
Yes there is an art. Once I got them growing with a fluorescent light they are now doing good without the light. No water on the blooms. But I finally figured it out.
a friend of mine runs a botanical garden in seattle. He has a specialist for many different plants, African Violets are one!
I lost a few along the way.

That is great. I enjoy mine indoors.
You took me back to my old garden where my collection of flowers was so different and that included African Violets. My present garden cannot take some type of flowers now

You are learning perhaps.
I already knew I knew nothing about botany…
I have not cultivated these violets yet. It looks very complicated.
Once you get them going it is not a big deal.
I love African violets and in all sorts of colors. I can tell you have a green thumb.
So do I, this one was a gift and it keep going! Thanks, I try and you gotta have patience.
I do not know African violets, my dear friend … we grow in purples without just knowing what
They are tiny and delicate potted plants grown indoors.

Thanks to the flowers for maintenance.
She does not like water on the leaves and to remove the flowers.
In various colors. The pots are mostly near the window.
I think you’re also keeping African violets.
Thanks Robin. They are very delicate. You are right about that. Very picky.
You have such a green thumb. Another beautiful photo.
How kind of you. I went through a lot of violets before being successful. Thank you.
