Seems that our friend Ghostwriter has been very busy creating challenges for us to participate in. I am trying to keep up.
Just received this cute little owl photo from her with a dare to write about.
I never see owls in my yard. I hear them at night while sitting out in the screen room. And I often visit the local park and see the rescued owls. They have two now and one is named Cotton. So happy these two were rescued.
Back to this cute photo. Look at those eyes. He/she seems to have so much personality. Not sure of this species but it looks like a short-eared owl. I cannot see his ears in this photo. But he is definitely a juvenile.
You can tell by the long hair above his feet. Would like to see him as an adult. What a cute little owl. Seems to be posing for the photo. Wish I could see this one in my backyard.

The picture is great. There are many challenges I cannot participate in at all.
I cannot remember them ll either, I post when and where I can. It’s all fun.
Such a nice looking owl to talk about. I posted the one about your photo of choice but was I suppose to use it as the main photo because I didn’t. I used one of my own photos for the main one, then I posted the link you sent me, but here you used her actual photo.

Owls are very unique birds!
I always wondered why they were considered intelligent, was it simply because they look like they are smart?
Yes they are very smart. Not sure why about a lot things about nature. It sure it cool to learn new things every day.
my goal is to be a life long learner!

We had four owls which we could see in the day time but then I did not have a camera with a zoom feature. And about this challenge I have enough on my hands already.
I agree about the challenge, I cannot take them all on either. Just trying this one out for fun. I hear the owls at night but never see them.
I missed an opportunity to capture those 4 Carol. They would just sit there and talk to each other in whispers.
Oh well, they are like that, camera shy.

they’re amazingly light colored for a nocturnal predator…
Maybe the feathers will darken as he matures.

That is a wonderful photo of the owl, I have lots to share here so the challenges are difficult to keep up with but I do now and then. I anyone sent me a photo I would do my best,

I am trying to do a few but am not stressing out over so many. Just picking the ones that are fun and different.
I am not sure if I am able to keep up with all the challenges in Virily. I would want to have more free time for such a pleasure to spend more time here and catch up with all new things. You chose a very nice photo.

That’s an amazing photo! By the way – the “ears” of short-eared and long-eared owls are not actually ears!
I read that they actually have ear tufts tucked in, and are not visible.
