The bird in the picture is called Bato-bato which is literally translated as stone or maybe stone bird. I really don’t know why it was called by that name but my guess is the bird likes to perch on stone. I usually see them right there on the concrete road. Some of them are kind of tame that you can come nearer as near as 2 feet away.
When I would water the plants and trees in the front yard, those birds would play on the wet leaves. It was like seeing playful children who are enjoying the water. Now they are here in the suburbs maybe because they are not killed here. Their habitat is the mountain area where they are hunted and shot for food. There is a neat lesson that those birds are showing us and I hope they get noticed.

Alex,
We have a lot of pigeons here. I see them a lot and I make sure that I wait for them to move so I can get past them when on my scooter. They do move for me. People put on bread a lot for the birds here.
The bread attracts the pigeon there so they are always on that spot in wait for the bread.
