Well, it’s the durian season again!! Yeay!!
My family loves durian, so it wasn’t a surprise that all over us could open a “ripe-enough” durian.
I’ve seen pastry chef struggle with “chopping open” a durian, but well, you don’t need to chop them open. With the right technique, they can be open easily with a screwdriver or key or even a spoon. But of course, it depends on the level of ripeness and how thick the skin is.

Hmm… the taste …
well some says it smells and taste like cat poop (seriously not sure why someone would have tasted cat poop LOL)
but to me it’s delicious!
It’s creamy and sweet, sometimes will a little bitterness …
Haha, I’ve no idea… haven’t and never plan to try cat pop
???
This is the first time I have set eyes on a Durian….It looks like a major mission…For you it may be simple.
It takes awhile to find the “lines” but with enough tries, it’ll be easy…
even I can’t be 100% percent sure, and have made mistakes…
just have to observe closer to get another line 🙂
At this time I was imagining when we were competing to open and eat durian.
Lol, you do that?
I actually sometimes enjoy opening the durian than eating it :p
but of course I love durian!!
If I (maybe with someone else) eat durian at the place we bought, we just have to open it by hand without the job of splitting it with a knife again, but if I buy it to eat at home, I have to do all the tasks of opening the durian, and others just eat it.
In my family, we take turns (but its usually me, coz I enjoy opening durian the most) …
But I guess you’re the most skilled ones, so the most difficult job is left for you? 🙂
If no one can be ordered to do it, then I have to serve, especially because people are at home unless I am all women…
Durian- the world’s most dangerous fruit…
Lol… now the durian feels honoured :p
even if you don’t fear the spikes, you can’t stand the smell
Wow this was different. I hope you enjoy with all the effort it took!
Thanks, Carol!
I’ve Definitely enjoyed the fruit with my family 🙂
Appreciate the effort you’ve taken , but durian isn’t a fruit everyone can stomach I guess. 😀
Definitely, durian is not a very popular fruit, I guess…
But well, in case someone is interested in making some durian pastry and have difficulty opening it :p
Thank you for sharing a detailed step-by-step procedure for opening a durian. I haven’t tasted this fruit yet.
Well, durian is not for everyone …
Great step to follow. Thank you
Hehe, thank you, Witty Feeds 🙂
