I love watching birds and when I see something uncommon I am totally excited. We not have too many water bodies or marshes here in the city. So to see a moor hen was a nice surprise for me.
I love watching these colorful birds. They are a beautiful midnight blue with a few strokes of grey and white. These birds have beautiful shiny plumes which are a contrast to the bright red on the head. the contrast between the colors of the feathers and the head makes the bird look strikingly beautiful.
These birds are found near water bodies and marshes.

This looks like yet unalike our New Zealand Pukakos…a New Zealand type of Moor Hen. I have one post about Pukakos and including a Tasmanian Moor hen

I have not seen one. In Romania it is mostly found in the Danube meadow, far away from the area where I live.
So they are there in Romania too. Nice to know that.
I don’t think I have seen one. It is a very beautiful shot. Bird photography is no easy task.
