It may not be common to give yourself a gift but I started practicing that when I retired from my job. I used to receive so many gifts although I also give away so many in return. But come to think of it, when Christmas time comes, I am left with just a few gifts now. So why not buy myself a gift so I would also enjoy the Christmas season?
This year I bought a pair of leather shoes that looks elegant. I intend to use this shoes for 3 years or more because I am frugal when it comes to footwear. Some people are surprised to know that I only have a pair of shoes and that’s my style. I don’t have rubber shoes so it is either the leather shoes of the slippers for me.

Sometimes I buy a gift to offer myself but usually only on my birthday.
Happy Christmas to you in advance dear
Can’t see the shoes clearly from here, but they must be quite sturdy. Good thing you got yourself a gift.
This is a great habit and I should emulate it.
We have “op” shops here, selling second-hand shoes.
An old man dies, for example, and gives his designer shoes to a “thrift” shop, as they call them in America. We can be lucky then, and pick up a great pair of leathers for a song.
So, I have more than one pair of leathers!
