A Blessing In Disguise

With a partial clamp down on due to Covid 19, I am not too keen on going shopping  for veggies everyday. That is when a kitchen gardens becomes a blessing. A few tomato plants that I had planted a couple of months ago are now bearing fruit. I have loads of spinach, eggplant, okra  and cabbage producing veggies right now.

There are different types of mint, basil, rosemary and other fresh herbs  growing in my garden to flavor my food as well. I do have some Ivy gourds and possibly ash gourd growing here. Lettuce is always available in good quantities and there will be no dearth of veggies around for me. The moringa tree has a number of pods ready for harvest. and it will go on until the end of summer.

Fruits like melons  pomegranates, Barbados cherries will all be ready for harvest in a month. I now feel so self sufficient and happy just looking at my garden. This inspires me to grow more veggies in my garden, but that will have to wait for the rains. The summer sun isn’t a gardener’s friend in a tropical climate.

  1. I planted garlic on 12/30/2019. And now I have a fresh one that is good to consume for viruses. It doesn’t bother me if I’m going to have garlic breath. I envy you blessedly for this vegetable garden. So you can rest know the quality of the vegetables. Congratulations.
