The Indus River is the largest river in Pakistan. It is the only river in Pakistan that passes through all the provinces of the country. It begins from the high mountains of the Northern Territory, where glaciers form a stream after melting and the water turns toward the plains. Exiting the Northern Territory, the river enters Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the Kabul River, Swat River and many other smaller rivers join the Indus. After Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Indus enters into the Punjab, where the Jhelum River and Chenab also join it. It does not pass through most parts of Balochistan but at Jacobabad it touches Balochistan and enters Sindh. And from Sindh province, the Indus River flows straight into Arabian Ocean.
