not always open
as the rain falls around
the sailors on
the tiny craft.
A three-hour tour
now lost
amidst days not counted
hours left
in jars
on the banks of rivers
Is it open now?the lights flashing
the driver
seeing
the stop sign
and the lights
blinking
in a rhythm
close to the
sound of
a heart
locked in a dark room.
Is it open now?

Seems that Three-Hour tours are often a bad idea, right?

Starting when I was in High School i wrote five different poems using the title. I don’t know why that title stuck with me. I love it.
I actually never published this poem ever. This is the first time it has seen the light of day. I suspect in reading it, I should have left it in its dusty bin of forgotten poems!
