  1. Did you know that thanks to the Fake News chant, more journalists were jailed in 2018 than were ever before jailed?

It is hard to do your job, to be dauntless when you are in a jail cell.

    • WOW! Doc, I think I have found some of those “dauntless newshounds” right here on this page, starting with your own “fearless” sharing of an extraordinary fact I was unaware of at the time of publishing this post. Thanks for your useful opinion as always.

  2. My feeling is that if journalist go too far in exposing the darkness by exposing the lies of our political leaders, it will mean the end of their careers by getting rubbed out by a hitman.

    • I share your feelings to a point, DPG, but, have investigating journalists not always been exposed to these dangers? Think of the war correspondents bringing civilians the truth. And, looking back to the dawn of American journalism, the 1920’s, during Prohibition, and racial tension when, had it not been for certain brave reporters many infamous racketeers may have escaped paying for their crimes against humanity.

      • That is a good point that you have although I think it is political correctness and being paid a lot of money from their bosses to keep some stories quiet.

  3. Interesting, i think sometimes quite frankly that it is sad that “Political Correctness” has made having an opinion a major offence for some people like those who are employed by the world wide media.
Having the right to have an “opinion” is a basic human right.
Yet, if you are inside a NZ university, you are not allowed to say “In my opinion”, they say you are allowed to have an opinion by arguing with facts.
I sometimes wonder if you have to have so many “facts” that it is possible to completely “Lose the plot!”?

  4. Even the journalists depicted on TV and in Old Hollywood movies were more daring. Most likely they are not out there all day pursuing leads instead they are on the PC checking things through the net and probably letting a of true facts fly by.
