Big in China, Snowflake wine (Hsueh hwa niang 雪花釀) is an alcoholic dessert produced from rice using koji mould, Aspergillus oryzae. According to the label it is “The natural fermentation of pure glutinous rice. Being able to be added to eggs, rice glue pudding, flavoured wine, and appetisers.”
Now who could argue with that? Oh, and it's delicious, by the way 🙂

My mum used to make a similar one… and separate the liquid as rice wine… And we’ll eat the rice as is… Good thing we didn’t grow up as alcoholics… lol
