Gilbert hails from the same county of Ireland as myself (Wexford) so I feel a special affinity for his heartfelt ballads. In Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 of the 1970s, “Alone Again (Naturally)” ranked as the fifth most-popular song of the decade. Would it be a hit if released today? You know the answer to that ?
