They can be found from Canada to South America. They are not water snakes. This one was trapped in the falls, to afraid to go back into the icy water. My son skipped rocks, got over there and helped it to the bank and trees.

Some wildlife the dogs had not scared away.
Even harmless garter snakes are not my friends.
I love them, snakes are so neat. Im one of those weirdos. lol
Yikes! They are still harmless right!
Very docile and nice, they hunt rattlers. Good snakes.
