What’s special about these irises? They are survivors. This entire fenced plot was dug up by heavy equipment to replace our leach field. It used to be our garden when the irises were planted years ago. When the machines had finished destroying everything I had planted, I never expected to see these irises again. But here they are in approximately the same location — just farther apart than they used to be.
Pamela, I was thrilled, but surprised, to see they survived, since many were my favorites. I may did some up and bring them here after they bloom this year.
Thats really good these irises survived.
Kim, I do have a bunch to divide, but it seems something always happens in the fall that keeps me from the task. I was very sorry to lose my grape vine.
Amazing! Heck it might of even helped them. You know you can divide them too? They multiply each year. Time to do this is in the fall. : )
