On our way back from dropping my daughter off at college, we visited the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. I think the best time for picture taking there is either early in the morning or just before sunset. With the sun already pretty high in the sky, there were few shadows, and all the dunes just blended together. Interestingly, the sand was quite cool despite the warm temperatures. If you dig down just a little bit, the sand is very moist. We’ll have to head back some time and explore the area further.
