White Pine Down Along the Trail at Paul Smiths, Adirondacks

We continue our walk along the paved pathway at Paul Smith’s College in the Northern Adirondacks at the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association meeting. The water of Lower Saint Regis Lake is to our left and there are many beautiful white Birch trees along the shore.  There are several that the beaver have found and cut down and now lay in the water. Some trees have blown down in storms and lie half in the water and half out. They make perfect places to walk out onto the water and to launch or come in with a canoe. The large tree down in the water is a huge White Pine.
