Water Trails at Congaree National Park

We explored around the wet Congaree National Park in South Carolina. The boardwalks were fantastic for seeing the wet forests while keeping dry. This area was a waterway trail that we were going to canoe but the Park Ranger warned us off saying it was 8-13 feet above flood level and too dangerous. We went and looked at the entrance at least and even the walking trail in was flooded with bridges covered with swirling fast moving muddy water. This above was a “vertorama” photograph where 6 photographs were stitched together vertically like a panorama but up and down. The sunlight penetrates the muddy water through the forest canopy. The water looked peaceful until you saw it moving furiously past trees with swirls and eddies.
