Wander project winter, is coming!

As we head into the cold that is winter, some images from winter past. It is funny now that I think about all these years later. You rush through the early years of children until they get old enough that they are interesting, then you launch them towards the world and hope you taught them well. There is never enough time just to stop and remember. It is a huge part of why I started the family history project. In part to capture all the slides my father left, but also to reflect and remember the moments that went with the pictures.

The old line is Yesterday is gone, tomorrow isn’t promised but today is the present. The gift, you need to open. Today all three kids are in college. My father would be proud of that; I know my mother is. According to MSN’s bad US traffic listing of yesterday, we live in or near one of the worst traffic areas in the US. Our average commute across the population is 25 or more minutes. I can tell you it took 20 minutes to get across Germantown on the weekend. There are times as we drive that we realize we went the wrong way. Why the wrong way? Because no matter which way you go in the DC area, you hit traffic. Even on the weekends.

Remember the moments that once were. Cherish those memories, but try oh so critically try to make new ones every day. Open the present and share that with someone. Smile at a bad joke. Call someone on the telephone. Send a long email talking about memories. Take a picture and post it. Remember today is a present. A gift that if you are lucky will be repeated tomorrow. But it is not guaranteed, that tomorrow will ever come. Cherish today and remember those you love!
