Wander project Lunch on the Boat~

The second set of pictures from our relaxing lunch day at the boat. Since we didn’t go out into the bay, no pictures of the Osprey or water this time, or other boats other than the other boat pictures I took walking off the dock! Both of us love wandering by the sail and other boats on our dock as well as the other docks in the Marina. There is something about saying “Ahoy Captain” that makes me smile every time! I haven’t talked about our great marina much. I’ve shown a lot of pictures. We are on the back side, in our slip, of the fuel dock. Our Marina happens to be the primary fuel dock on the creek we are on that feeds the bay. We sit at the end of the pier, with only one boat past us on the other side (actually closer to the fuel dock).

Part of boating is the friendly nature of the people, and the crew that runs the marina are wonderful people. Not mind you that we spend a lot of time at the dock. We mostly arrive, say hi to a few people and then, pack up our boat and head off on whatever adventure that day holds for us. But you get the idea; it is nice at least to have friendly people as you prepare to head out. The first Marina we choose as boaters was a little further up the same creek, literally on the same road about a ¼ mile from our current marina. The first marina was also very nice, and had a wonderful restaurant right on the property, but doesn’t have a fuel dock, and honestly was more expensive.

We are thinking about moving our boat upriver to Baltimore next summer. We want to experience the Bay from some different places, without having to cross the Bay Bridge. Adding the Bay Bridge to your weekly trip can add 2, 3 or more hours of waiting in traffic. We like boating under the bridge, having a relaxing time watching all the stressed-out drivers on the bridge above. I, having sat on that bridge a few times waiting, do feel sorry for the people just trying to get across. I know several people that live on the far side of the bridge. You meet people in the boating world; they hate crossing that bridge and use their boats to go to Baltimore or Annapolis. Residents of that area stay off the bridge.
