I have several online friends in London. Never been of course. Ireland is still my pick as well as Australia. Great post and memories.
-
thanks Carol! you are always there with kind words!
I would say Ireland remains my top all-time favorite.
Australia is right up there as well!

London is so rich with history. Thank you for the narrative and pictures. I have a high school chum that lives in London that I wish I could visit.

London pubs are really special … the atmosphere is unique … but it really disturbs me very much that the beer is not cooled … for me it’s too cold to be cold ice … it really does lose a bit of true taste
-
-
I believe this too … I have a friend who drinks a warm beer … if it is accidentally overheated, the waiter must warm it under hot water
-
My second favorite lager was when I was in Prague (other than Heineken Ice Cold which is my all-time favorite) was Budvar.
Both, better than American beer.
-
I do not know American beer …. Budvar is for me one of the best beers … in general, the Czech beer is very good … I like to drink Gusinnes and this dark or mixed half dark pole … great only a little expensive
-
-
America borrowed Budvar to create Budweiser, which isn’t half as good a Budvar!
A black and tan (half Guinness) is one I love as well!!!!

no offense but how would l know what isn’t familiar to a person not near enough to me that I could ask?
-
(lol) Honestly normally one would want to see famous structures such as may be the Buckingham Palace?
-
i have pictures of those – coming later. First ones are of the financial district. Nobody goes to NYC, London, Luxemburg, Zurich and camps out in the financial district!

I’m glad you enjoyed your visit to London, which I know well, having made many visits as well as working there for a few years in my youth.
You would soon get in trouble if you lived here and said that there is no “haute cuisine ” in London! There’s masses of it, although some of it is at prices that would frighten off most people! The best restaurants are booked up months in advance, though.
As for the beer, you have to remember that what you call beer and what we call beer is not necessarily the same stuff. Yes – you would drink lager (such as Heineken) cold, but not proper bitter beer. It has to be at room temperature, otherwise you lose much of its flavour.
Your photos are interesting, due to not being “touristy” shots”. This is a part of London that not many people know.

no offence my friend with the food comment. The reality is english food is often seen as, well not good.
