An interesting budget picture collection. All are taken with my phone; all have been shared before on various Social Media sites. All have the same location (folders on my computer). The Elf picture is my daughter and wife before the play. We loved the Will Farrell movie, and when the Oleny theater hosted their musical version of Elf, we were in line for tickets right way. Olney is about 40 minutes by car (about 20 minutes in the distance, but in DC there is no such thing as averaging a mile a minute. If you are lucky, you will only get delayed once by DC traffic). We didn’t stop at the restaurant that is across from the Olney theater, but we did enjoy a wonderful Musical!
The picture of Raven is her on her bed in front of the fire. It’s funny, there are two beds and two dogs. The two dogs always sleep on the same beds. But, when the granddogs come over, Serenity and Tamsyn. Who sleeps on which bed changes. Food is taken from a Korean BBQ restaurant that we went to for an event in February. It may have been earlier I don’t know for sure!
I love to wander through old pictures, that isn’t that old to remember. One of the things, I regret is that I didn’t film my father, all the times he talked about the many slides he had. In part, I couldn’t because he was presenting slides in the days long before there were video cameras with sound. The film camera we had back then (8mm) didn’t allow for the capturing of sound. The later cameras that did were then past the time we had the home video camera. Later, in the 1990s the family added video cameras. There were images and videos of the kids when they were little that have been digitized and saved. But I never thought to record dad talking about his pictures.
That is a painful reality that lots of people have. Some people have pictures, but no stories. Some people have video of the stories and pictures. Some people have no pictures and no stories other than the memories of the people involved. That is why I share the family history project. So that my children will have the pictures, the videoes and the stories!
