Wander Project Greenwood and Kayaking. Whatever could go wrong?

We had a retention pond at our house in Greenwood that was in our backyard. I guess in fairness the pond was in our neighborhood and our backyard ended right where the pond began. We owned like two feet into the pond, so they could charge extra for those of us who lived on the ponds for maintenance and other things. We also owned a Kayak, and the lure of the pond was greater than I could take.

One fine day, in the afternoon of a warm summer day, the lure of kayaking our pond, of seeing what lay on the other side of the pond (23 feet from our side of the pond but let’s not quibble over tiny distances). I cruised around the pond no problem for about 5-10 minutes then cruised into shore to get out.

What happened next is shown in the pictures because my daughter is rotten. Not rotten like an egg smelling of Sulphur, rather rotten in that she has my sense of humor. So the sheer joy of me hitting shore, and then flipping the Kayak was more than she could take. The pictures are classic. At least the dog was worried when I went into the pond. My kids were laughing as I emerged, soaked and well ego damaged.
