Wander project Bloomington Christmas 2000

The second set of pictures (I skipped 24 or so) takes us to my parent’s house in Bloomington Indiana. Over the years my parents lived in Bloomington they owned houses in four different locations. The first was our house on Dunstan Drive in Sherwood Oaks. Then we were on Chelsey Court in Sycamore Knolls. Then Harmony Road out in Kirksville, where dad and mom had their mini farm. Finally, the last house my father lived in was on Kinser Pike when they sold the farm and moved back into town.

We headed down as early as we could, It took some time to get the kids ready. Shockingly they wanted to play with their new acquisitions! We would pack up and head down, later in the day we would have my wife’s parents to the house for dinner (that was after they moved back to Indiana) otherwise we would call them and my wife’s brother on the phone to say hi on the momentous day!  The holiday is about family after all!

For many years we had a big van when the boys were young. We had to take two of everything. Plus the twin stroller was much larger than the single baby stroller. So we had a large conversion van that had a TV and VCR in it. That let the kids settle into their comfortable seats in the van as we drove down to Bloomington. One year at work I won a creative RIO music player so I loaded all our MP3’s of Christmas music so we could listen all the way. Back in the days before there was Satellite radio!
