A Walk Into Gua Tempurung

Gua Tempurung is a cave located in Gopeng, Perak, Malaysia. Last week my friends and I made a journey into the cave. The cave is said to be 3 km long in stretch and nominated the longest cave in Peninsular Malaysia. Gua Tempurung is a vast limestone cave with a lot of stalagmites, stalactites, paths and rivers.

We need to pay to enter the cave. The expedition into the cave is divided into 2 parts which are dry and wet. As we didn’t bring any extra clothes, we paid for the dry expedition. The cost per person is RM 9.00.

We enjoy the view as we continue the walk. Here are some pictures that I have taken that attract me.

Platform 5 is the last stop for us. If we take the wet expedition we can proceed down to continue the journey. The stairs go down into pitch darkness and wet pathways. From what I heard, there is another safety equipment needed to walk down this path.

As we reached the last checked point, we headed back to the entrance to where we came in. The overall journey I think about 1 hour and 45 minutes. This picture shows the flight of stairs that we need to encounter to get back. Ha ha ha.

The feeling out of the Gua Tempurung is quite amazing. It is actually my first time to go into the cave. On our way back, we stopped and ate some Durians by the road side. The taste of the Durian is magnificent and we ate 3 bunch of it to fill our empty stomach. This completed our trip.
