Visit the Red Tower in Alanya, Turkey

Red Tower is one of the oldest buildings in Alanya, loved the same as Alanya fortress by tourists. In Turkish its name is Kizil Kule. On the first floor of the Red Tower, there is opened an ethnographic museum. The exposition of the museum tells the heraldry of Seljuk, creator of the town of Alanya, town’s history, and the story of the tower. The height of the tower is 33 meters and 85 staircases lead to the tower top. This tower is a symbol of Alanya city, staying at the bottom of the Alanya Fortress hill.

The name of Red Tower it got because of the red bricks used for its creation, for the foundation were used stones found in surroundings. At the bottom of the tower, there is still remained the old military shipyard with five arches, the weapons and parakeet warehouses.

And of course, it worth climbing these 85 staircases to see city panorama, harbor’s beauty from the tower.
