We are deep within the tunnels and passages of Luray Caverns in Virginia near the Shenandoah National Park. These famous caverns have been explored and open since 1878 and even on a hot summer day the caves are cool and nice. Of all the caverns I have seen this is the most beautiful and most full of stalagmites and stalactites and formations. Some of these columns of rock are stories tall.
