Travel guide: Damlatash caves in Alanya

Alanya is one of the most popular resorts in the Antalya region. Here you find sandy beaches, and a gentle turquoise sea, and a developed tourist infrastructure. This is the biggest attraction for me. I can happens that you get bored even by beach rest, and then you want a real adventure, research of the city and its environs. A hike or a trip to the caves of Alanya – just what you need in Mediterranean day. Salt caves are good for health, and they are also very beautiful!

To be honest, I must say that I have never been a big fan of caves. In their narrow corridors you feel like a true pioneer, but at the same time, I really want to quickly get out of tons of stones, swallow fresh air and see light. But in the caves of Alania, I did not feel such discomfort, I did not even think about to leave. There are so many incredible stalactites and stalagmites that you can stay there for a long time! In general, the two most beautiful caves of Alanya – Dim and Damlatas – are well-equipped, have a good backlighting, are full of natural treasures and are quite spacious.

This time, I add photos of Damlatash (Damlatas) cave. Later, I will post photos from the Dim Cave.

Just in case, I remind that a stalactite is a build on the ceiling of a cave that hangs down. Stalagmite – an uplift on the bottom, which stretches upwards and also forms drops of water. But Stalagnat is a combination of stalactites and stalagmites, which resembles a column. All these bizarre forms you will see in the caves of Alanya.
