Thessaloniki, Greece – 23.03.2019 #2

A walk in Thessaloniki, Greece – 23.03.2019 /part 2/.

Also known as the tomb of Galerius, the Rotunda in Thessaloniki is one of the most preserved antique buildings in the city.

In 1591, after the conquest of Thessaloniki by the Turks, the church was turned into a mosque.

The church functions primarily as a museum, and worship is carried out only on big holidays.

Since 1988 is part of the World Heritage of UNESCO.

Indeed, here you can touch the mixing of different cultures throughout the centuries.
