The most famous places in Afghanistan worth visiting

How many of us can proudly say that we have traveled to Afghanistan? It looks enough dangerous, but still, a bit mysterious country and not many people dare to visit it. There live millions of people, and of course, there are some amazing places worth to visit. So, let’s make a virtual trip to Afghanistan.

As you see, there are a lot of nice mosques. There are not many spectacular places (as we understand this) to visit in Afganistan with a landscape of bare mountains, but still, you will be amazed by the life there.

At Takht-e Rostam are the remains of a Buddhist stupa and monastery.

Band-e Amir National Park is the first national park in Afghanistan. It is six deep blue lakes separated by natural dams made of travertine. In the past, the lakes were attraction of tourists, but now to visit it can be dangerous to you as roads around the lakes are heavily mined by local militias and the Taliban.

Mosque of the Sacred Cloak is in the city of Kandahar. Kandahar is a crossroads where southern Afghanistan meets the mountains of the country’s heartland.

Afghanistan used to be a fairly safe place to visit in the 1970s. To go there as a tourist now, someone would have to be very brave or foolish (or both!)

It all looks so amazing and beauriful

It’s a lot nicer looking than I imagined. Still, I don’t see me visiting in the near future. Living in Chicago is about all the danger I can handle.
