Sintra, Portuguese fairytale

Sintra is a municipality nearby the Portuguese capital city, Lisbon. It is known as a resort town in the foothills of the Sintra Mountains. Sintra is considered as a part of the Portuguese Riviera and even though it’s quite small place, it hosts an incredible amount of tourists every year.

The whole municipality contains two cities: Agualva-Cacém and Queluz. The whole municipality covers an area of 319, 29 km2 and it has aproximately 377,835 inhabitants.

What Sintra is best known for is for its monuments from the 19th century, named as  UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some of the well known Medieval castles in Sintra are the Pena Castle, the Castle of the Moors and Quinta de Regaleira, out of which I decided to introduce you the last one. It has amazing surrounding, stunning nature, fresh air, colorful and pictureque interior as well as exterior of the castle. Its visit is open for everyone.
