The Sembrich Museum at Bolton Landing

After leaving the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing on the shore of Lake George, NY we headed next door to the Sembrich Museum of Opera. We had erroneously heard that they had Georgia O’Keeffe objects there. It was good we went because it was a cute museum that was a small building on the lake shore of Lake George. The grounds and classic little building is the former teaching studio of Metropolitan Opera prima donna Marcella Sembrich (1858-1935). They were a teacher, pianist and violinist and summered in Bolton Landing from 1922-1934. Julliard and Curtis Institute vocal students found instruction here from Sembrich. The small museum building was situated right near the water and from there were trails that wound around the shore and into the woods to other buildings.
