Our last chapel on our personal tour. We didn’t want to only visit churches while in Palermo, but we did choose a few to explore and learn more about. I have mentioned the story of the saint elsewhere, her sanctuary is built right into the mountain. There is a cave where pilgrims visit and pray to their saint for healing. We did not go too far inside of this building, there is far more than allow the general public around. A shrine is placed near the cave for offerings for physical and spiritual healing. Every church has ornately carved statues on the face of the buildings.
