Went down to Ngaruawahia as it was gale force winds and bitterly cold in Auckland. Its about two hours south of Auckland and near the Waikato river.

Ngaruawahia was known as a very tough area, but after this visit I have a different opinion. As I walked around to look at this place, many strangers came up and greeted me. They didn’t look rough or tough, but were very pleasant people.

Those look a bit different than the oaks here, or maybe I can’t see a close enough look at the leaves. They appear to be wider than I’m used to seeing.

There are many different types of Oak trees in New Zealand, English Oaks and European Oaks.
