This happens to be one of many elaborately decorated features of buildings in Nepal. Many of the doors, windows, pillars and trimmings of the buildings in the ancient cities there are either decorated with intricately carved wood panels or molded metalwork.
I found this plain wooden door framed in carved wood and stone in Patan. Patan is one of three ancient cities found in Nepal.
