Monastery Kumanica

The monastery is dedicated to the Holy Archimandrite Gabriel. The first written mention of the monastery dates back to 1514. The ruins have preserved parts of panels that are reliably claimed to originate from the period from the end of the 13th to the middle of the 15th century, but the area on the north side of the monastery was destroyed during the construction of the railway, so a more reliable date of the original church was disabled. It is assumed that the golden age of the monastery’s life was in the second half of the 16th and during the 17th century. It is also assumed that the monastery experienced collapse and abandonment in the second half of the 18th century.

For a long time he was demolished and abandoned. It was renewed on November 12, 2000.

  1. A very old historical value. When I read about the River Lim, I immediately remembered the Bulgarian children who had drowned for years. They were on a bus trip. Unfortunately, they suffered a terrible car crash

  2. Lovely place and great information. I have heard that in Scotland some people would travel by foot and stay in a Monastery overnight. Im not sure if they paid for it or not. I think it would be an interesting way to travel.
