You can see why this is called the "Twin Sails". There is a problem, however, because nobody has found a way of preventing the tarmac from falling off the sails! This doesn't happen every time, of course, but it does to lead to periodic closures to allow for repairs.
This is one of the Sunseeker yards in the foreground, but the buildings behind belong to the RNLI College, a state-of-the-art training facility for lifeboat crews.
