Luxurious Tour to Seven Wonders of India

Many of you must have heard about the “Seven Wonders of the World” but do you have any idea about “Seven Wonders of India” for a luxury tour in India? So for your help, I have written an article on seven wonders of India which are famous and have a great back story such as  Golden Temple, Nalanda University, Taj Mahal, Khajuraho Temples, Konark Sun Temple, Gomateshwara, and Hampi Temple complex. Many of these names might not have heard even and if heard then it must not be from some useful source. So go through the article till the end to enrich your knowledge.

1. The Monolithic Gomateshwara Statue

The Gomateshwara Statue of Bahubali is one of the 7 wonders of India and hence the best place for luxury tour in India. Bahubali was the son of first Jain Tirthankara “Rishabanath”. The 57 – feet high statue of Bahubali is said to be built by Chavundaraya, in ancient time which depicts the moksha and salvation of Bahubali. The statue is located on the hilltop of Shravanabelagola, Karnataka.

2. Golden Temple, Amritsar

The Golden Temple is not only one of the seven wonders of India but a holy pilgrimage site for Sikh community. People irrespective of caste, religion, community, etc. visit this place from all over the world to see the unique and beautiful architecture of Sikhs. The temple is located in Amritsar, a city of Punjab designed by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan. Adi Granth is the holy book of Sikhs which could be accessed inside the Golden Temple. The temple has four entrance gates in all 4 directions which signifies that people from all caste, creed, and religion can walk into the temple to offer prayers and seek blessings. The upper floor of the temple is covered with gold and visited by lakhs of people every day. Last but not the least is the “prasad” offered at Golden temple, the most delicious halwa you ever had anywhere in the world.

3. Nalanda University

Nalanda university is a large monastery of Buddhists which was later recognized as the Seven wonders of India. It has inspired lots of scholars from all over the world who wished to learn Vedic science and has a record of housing at its peak 10,000 students from all across Asia. It was established in Rajgir in1951 by the Act of Parliament. If one is planning a luxury tour in India then Nalanda University, is a must-visit place. In ancient times, it was the only University which had residential facilities for both students and teachers. The most fascinating thing of this university was its library, which was earlier known as the world’s ancient largest library securing lakhs of volumes of manuscripts on many subjects such as logic, astrology, grammar, medicine, literature, and astronomy.

4. Taj Mahal – “ The Symbol Shah Jahan & Mumtaz Mahal’s Love  Story”

Taj Mahal is the only wonders of India which is included in the list of Seven Wonders of the World. Every one of us heard the story that it was built by Mughal Emperor i.e., Shah Jahan in the remembrance of his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal after her death. It was constructed purely with magnificent white marbles on the holy river Yamuna in the city of Agra hence it is one the best spot to have a luxury tour in India.

5. Konark Sun Temple

The Konark Sun Temple is also known as the Black Pagoda due to its great tower appears black, situated in Konark district of Orissa. The temple was constructed in 1255 CE by King Narasimhadeva I, The East Ganga Dynasty Ruler. The intricate architecture and sculptures of this temple attracts people to have a luxury tour in India. The temple is dedicated to the Sun God Surya. The major attraction for visitors is Sun – chariot styled temple on marble carved wheels and horse.

6. Khajuraho Temple, Madhya Pradesh

Khajuraho is located in the heart of India, i.e., Madhya Pradesh, and hence its group of monuments are listed as the World UNESCO Heritage Site. It is a place where imaginative arts of dance, passion, music, and eroticism are depicted in the sculptures and images in the temples.

Khajuraho is a temple city which is famous around the world for its graceful sculptures and architecture carved in temples. People interested in age-old things visit here to see unique and aesthetic Hindu culture, which is engraved in stone by the stone craftsmen about millions of years back. Presently, Khajuraho is a small village, which earlier used to be a great or say large city of the medieval Rajput rulers, i.e., Chandelas, who ruled over Central India. Khajuraho is 595 km away from Delhi, and one can reach here easily by air, road or rail.

7. The Hampi Temple, Karnataka

Hampi is a city of temples in Karnataka, India. During ancient times, Hampi was known as the wealthiest cities in the world. Hampi was previously a part of the Vijayanagara kingdom whose rulers were fond of art, culture, knowledge, and rule. The major attraction of the Hampi is the Virupaksha Temple, The Vittala Temple Complex, and the Queen’s bath. This place is one of the 7 Wonders of India and UNESCO World Heritage Site for a luxury tour in India.
