Library Inside the Tybee Island Lighthouse

Here in Savannah, Georgia on Tybee Island, we are looking at the Tybee Island Lighthouse. Inside there was certain things that appear only in lighthouses. This was the “Library” what was actually a well made dovetailed wooden box that housed the vital books of the lighthouse. It had large metal handles so that the entire box could be quickly detached and moved out if there was a fire.
