Kata Noi Beach, Thailand

A huge number of tourists visit Thailand annually. Many come to this country more than once. There are so many interesting places in the world, and people visit Thailand for the third or fourth time. Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam – Asian lovers have plenty to choose from. So why from year to year do tourists book tickets to the “land of smiles”? And the thing is that Thailand can provide everything that even the most sophisticated tourist wants to rest.

You can lead a truly active life on the mainland: there are concentrated shopping centers, round-the-clock entertainment venues, restaurants, cozy cafes, offices in which tourists book excursions to the most beautiful places in the country. On the islands, you can fully enjoy a relaxing beach holiday. It is no secret to anyone that it is beaches – with white sand and the azure sea – the main tourist value of the country.

For a few days,  my husband and I gave preference to a beach holiday. Of all the beaches that we visited during our stay in Thailand, I can safely give the first place to Kata Noi. This is an incredibly picturesque and quiet secluded beach in Phuket. Compared to Karon or Kata, it is not crowded, especially from noon to 5-6 pm.

Kata Noi Beach is located south of one of Phuket’s most popular beaches, Kata. The silent road that leads to Kata Noi ends with a rather steep staircase, down which you can immediately get to the beach. This road is separated from the beach by hotels, so the noise of cars, scooters and other forms of transport is completely inaudible. It seems that the city with hurrying tourists and busy traffic is somewhere very, very far away.

We lived in the vicinity of Kata beach and spent about 20-25 minutes in order to get to Kata Noi from our hotel in a leisurely step. The road may seem rather difficult for some: it will be necessary to go in the heat (there is practically no shadow), it will also be necessary to overcome a slight climb to the hill. But all this will pay off when you see the beach.

"Noi" can be translated from Thai as "small." Kata Noi is really a small beach, especially when compared to Karon, Patong or Kata. Its length is not more than 800 meters. By the way, the length of Kata is about two kilometers, Karon is stretched for as much as 5 km. But it is a small size that makes Kata Noi so picturesque.

Near the entrance to the beach, there was a sign with statistics of incidents over the past year on Kata Noi: in the rainy season, one person died. Immediately upon arrival, the guide said that in those places or at a time when it is dangerous to swim at sea, red flags are set on the beaches.

If on Karon hiding from the shadows is not a problem, then on Kata and Kata Noi there may be slight difficulties. There are quite a few trees on the beach; they grow mainly along the edges of the beach. Therefore, if you want to spend all day on the beach, you should come to Kata Noi early and take place in the shade of palm trees in advance.
