Inside the Cargo Hold of the ship Lois McClure

This is in Brockport, NY on the Old Erie Canal where the Corning Glass Barge and the Lois McClure have docked at the Welcome Center. These boats are being pushed together along the Erie Canal from town to town so people can tour and see the glass making shows.  The Lois McClure is a sailing vessel with its mast down to go underneath the many lift and other bridges on the Erie Canal. This canal boat used to sail the lakes and go down the Erie Canal carrying produce, goods and merchandise including large blocks of stone. All day they give tours on deck and below deck of the Lois McClure. Here is the cargo hold area where most of the merchandise was stored. Note the large hatch above where the larger items were lowered in.
