I drove around the city of Hemet California in Riverside County, where I work and found some really cool flora and stuff. I hope you enjoy..
The yards are so pretty..like these..
The average rainfall is around 12 inches a year. Drought tolerant yards are a must.
I love cacti! Do you? The color of the red prickly pear is so awesome.
And this barrel cactus was so big.
These trees are called Desert Smoke Trees. They are a type of Pine Tree and bloom a dark purple that look like smoke from far away.
They are different from regular Smoke Trees. And can withstand severe droughts. Excuse the reflection, I was in my car shooting through the windshield.
I got delayed when someone was moving a Tiny House. I love this small homes. Could you live in one?
I could live in one. I like to spend most of my time outdoors anyway.
All the yellow wildflowers are blooming, it sure makes a great ground cover.
Imagine a tiny house here in this open field… or perhaps in the mountains?
There is so much to see here in this area, I am sure there will be more to follow soon.
Have a great day!

Great photographs, they are all very well taken! Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you for looking at all my recent posts Courtney, hope all is well with your family.
Thank you. I have never seen a smoke tree before and thought I had seen them all.
Look them up, they bloom the prettiest dark deep purple ever!
A lot of cool things on the road, cacti are excellent for this climate.
Thank you Elenka, so many different kinds of cacti do well here.
Well I am glad I took them then! I love when people have never seen things that I can show. Makes it all worthwhile. ty
After counting all those impressive pictures, the sum is eight, if one photo for every 500 meters, then the distance between your house and workplace is 4 km.
Well well, I dont know how you came to this sum, but actually the drive was from my work place to these hills and mountains where the last one was shot. It is about 2 miles away. lol I still think you are clairvoyant. I live 1.5 hours away.
So, the approximate sum range is not so bad, right?
dead on! : ) You’re good at that.
Your eyes are my eyes too… lol
Very cool Kim. I have a smoke tree but very different. Not many cacti seen here.
Regular Smoke trees are very different than the desert smoke tree. I wish it were in bloom.
I am sure they all have to be different to survive the desert.
! I love all photos, the cacti …….
Glad you liked them Branka, I was worried the owner was going to come out and ask why I was taking pictures. lol
Loves the series, love the Cacti pictures! Awesome Kim!
We’ve been kind of slow the last few weeks at work, giving me great opportunities to take pictures!! Thanks a bunch Doc!
Love the series – wish we were in a lag time at work. At some point I am going to topple over.
