Firefighter saves a motorist from a fiery auto accident waiting to happen

Alfreshia Thibeaux is a young lady who is very thankful that a St. Landry Parish Fire District volunteer firefighter named Connor Manuel was at the right place at the right time on Tuesday in Lafayette Louisiana.

Alfreshia who is 6.5 months pregnant was driving her auto on Interstate 10 East when she heard some noises inside her auto that alerted her to get off of the road to the shoulder so she could call her fiancé to inform him that she needed help.

Connor who happened to be nearby saw something that Alfreshia could not see since she was inside her auto. Underneath the hood of her auto, a fire started which Connor was able to get Alfreshia’s attention that her life was in grave danger if she did not get out of her auto fast.

Alfreshia had to get out of her auto via the passenger side since the traffic on the interstate was blocking her from getting out of the drivers side of her auto.

What happened next would like a television or movie scene when an auto would go up in flames after a driver or passenger managed to leave the burning auto in the nick of time. Only this was a real life incident.

Alfreshia calls Connor her “hero” for being there to warn her to get out of her auto that went up in flames seconds after she managed to leave the danger zone.

Connor was rewarded by Alfreshia by having a cookie cake for being what she calls her Guardian Angel on that fateful day in Lafayette Louisiana.
