In the Museum of Aviation at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia they had some very early Drones. This was the Ryan Firebee jet propelled drone that was used for a target. It was the first jet powered drone and pre-empted the many jet and prop drones used today in the military. This drone was made in the early 50’s (1951) by the Ryan Corporation. I noticed it because as a child growing up on a military base I remember making a plastic model of these Firebee drones and this is the first real one I saw.
