I just registered for Detroit Marathon on January 1st, right at midnight! Detroit marathon was my secondary option, if all did not go well with the Chicago Marathon lottery, which it did not for those that have not been following my writings.
Part of me had a funny feeling that I would not have been selected in the Chicago Marathon lottery, so I started planning my trip to Detroit, as far as identifying airports, hotels, restaurants, and places to visit during a weekend in the city.
As the weeks go on, I would like to share with you all how I plan my training for a marathon (26.2 miles), as well as some of the sites in Detroit that I plan to visit on marathon weekend. Detroit Marathon will be my 20th marathon ever ran! To me, Detroit is an intriguing city with similarities to Chicago. For where the city was, and how far it has come, it is very underrated in my opinion.
