Buttermilk Falls, Long Lake, NY.

While on the last few days of one of our Upstate New York adventures, we came across the trail-head for this place. The noise of the falls drowned out our conversation, and we had the place to ourselves to relax and enjoy the whole time we were there. The rainbow that covered the falls was constant in the sunshine, and seemed to radiate from every direction depending on your vantage point. We finally had to leave this splendid place, but had to be on our way, and ended up parking just a few miles upstream to hike up to a lesser known lake in the upper bowl of the mountain to camp for the night.

  1. Thank you! I must say Upstate NY is one of the cleanest places I have been in the US. Litter is mostly non existent, maybe I notice these things because of our local efforts to clean up our environment.
